Lunar Festival
BIRTHDAY OF KONG-FU-ZI ("Master-Sage KONG"), known in the West as Confucius, who lived from 551 B.C.E. to 479 B.C.E., and after his death, became pre-eminent among all Philosopher-Sages in his influence and importance to Chinese culture and life. Among his long list of honorifics is ZHI-SHENG KONG-ZI XIAN-SHI ("Holiest First-Master Sage KONG"): this is the anniversary of his canonization with that title.
