Lunar Festival
BIRTHDAY OF XUAN TIAN SHANG-DI ("High Emperor of the Dark Heavens"), Ruler of the Dipper (Ursa Major), most sacred of the constellations, and a Patron of the Martial Arts. This observance used to be held on Double Nine (9/9 of the lunar year), which was dedicated to him. Now on this day, it is a festival honoring all who reside in the Palace of Heaven.
